Buddha Beads
Bodhi seeds are not the seeds of the bodhi tree. In Buddhism and cultural collection circles, the term generally refers to hard nuts and seeds from tropical and subtropical plants that can be drilled, strung into prayer beads or bracelets. There are over 200 to 300 varieties in total. Derived from the Sanskrit word Bodhi, meaning enlightenment and wisdom, these seeds were originally used by monks to count recitations during chanting, hence the name "bodhi seed".
